Our first stop was the Old Market Lofts, which will be our home for the next 4 months.

Our apartment isn't available until tomorrow, so we got to spend the night in the Executive Suite.

We couldn't resist popping up to the roof terrace to take in the view of the city.

We headed back to the lofts and went up on the roof before deciding to go to the park.

In the evening we went up to the roof for a swim, where a dog called Sushi kept trying to jump in the pool and get Tom. Later we shared a hot tub with three other web designers and a man who works for a pet food company.

We made it home just before the storm started, so we decided to go up to the roof and watch it from the Bat Cave (we think the community room looks like a supervillan's hideout at night with the view over the city).

We'd bought a bottle of Californian champagne for $7 earlier, so we popped it open to drink during the storm.

When the rain stopped we headed out on to the roof to get a better view of the lightening.

We then went back to our place to wait for our bed, which was being delivered and have lunch on our makeshift plates.

We wont be sleeping on the floor tonight.

We managed to buy a huge desk for $10, two office chairs and two bar stools for $5 each. Tom wanted to get this hair dryer chair as his office chair.

In the evening we jumped in the hot tub and watched the sunset over Omaha. It was so pretty!

We then went on Skype to Jennifer Ann Smith in Japan, who was just waking up as we were going to bed.

It was then time to see our new apartment. First things first, there'a a gigantic gumball machine in the hall!

The part of the building we're living in use to be the Butternut Coffee company and they still have a giant weigh skill in the loby.

There's an amazing glass fronted elevator which takes you up through the building and there's a giant atrium with sofas, tables, trees and a fountain.

The best part of the building is the rooftop with a huge terrace, gym, community room, swimming pool and hot tub. And, of course, the amazing view over the city!

There was a huge lightening storm later in the night. Tom was asleep but I had to wake him up because it was so scary. We watched it from our window.

Tom and I took our dinner up to the roof today and cooked our Quorn turkey burgers on the grill.

We had an audience while we were cooking.

They tasted so good and we had them with A&W Root Beer BBQ sauce.

This dog kept creeping closer and closer as we were cooking and was right at our feet when we ate.

For dessert, we made our first ever attempt at S'mores which were good but very very sticky. When we were buying the ingredients, the cashier asked if we were making S'mores with peanut butter cups and thought that was an awesome idea.

Back at the loft we were getting stuck in to our work when we heard a parade outside of the window and of course we had to run down to join the end of it.

We headed back to the lofts for dinner. We hag wagon wheel pasta with tomato pesto which was really yummy.

After dinner we headed up to the roof so that we could get front row seats for the fireworks.

The fireworks were really pretty and we got to meet our neighbours Jim & Linda, who were really nice.

There was a scary looking cloud brewing outside the window when we got in which I joked looked like the kind to have a tornado in.

Tom got a text to tell him that the tornado sirens had sounded and that everyone should evacuate to shelter.

It got dark very quickly and went cold. We took the stairs down to the ground floor where there were already people gathered in hall.

Lots of people had already gathered in the hall and we just watched as the doors swung on their hinges, cars moved a little bit and debris flew through the air. The stadium even had to be evacuated as their was a game on. The worst part of the storm only lasted for about 10 minutes but there was a big lightening storm after.

In the evening there was a lightening storm and Tom decided he wanted to go for a swim, even though I warned him that it was really dangerous.

Our hair was sticking in the air with all the static from the lightening.

Tom got a text to warn him that there was a chance of a tornado. It's so cool that they can text everyone in the area with severe weather alerts.

When we got back to the lofts, there were fireworks, so we headed up to the roof to watch them. It's a four day holiday for the Fourth of July, so I suspect that we'll be seeing lots of these.

When we got back to the lofts, a bunch of furniture was going free and we ended up with a new sofa, glass coffee table and Lay-Z-Boy arm chair.

Tom thought that if they made mobility chair conversion kits, he'd never leave the chair.

We headed up to the roof when we got back, which was packed with people waiting for the fireworks at the stadium.

They were very pretty with heart shaped fireworks and ones which were a mix of red, white and blue.

We spent the rest of the evening playing around on Garage Band. It's so addictive and make everything sound great!

In the evening we headed up to the roof to watch the fireworks. It was packed, so we stood on the stairs leading up from the roof to the top of the building, which gave us an even more amazing view over the city.

There were fireworks across the skyline, everywhere you looked. There must have been about twenty different displays going off at once.

We were starving by the time we got home, so we picked up an amazing pizza & cookie combination from the supermarket which had to be bought to be believed.

The freshly baked cookies were amazing!

When we got back to the lofts, we could hardly get to our apartment as they entire cast of a fashion show were sprawled out in our hallway. There's always something going on here!

When we got back to the lofts, we went for a swim in the pool which was still really warm from the sun and Tom managed to get the bubbles working in the hot tub.

I love being on the roof at night, the city looks so pretty when it's lit up.

There was a giant double rainbow in the sky as we were heading out today.

We went up to the roof to get a better view. The sky looked so crazy and it felt like sunrise thought it was actually sunset.

We picked up our newly developed roll of film and headed home.

I put our new photos on the wall. I can't wait to try out the LOL Camera next!

When we got back to the lofts our windows were being washed.

They'd also started setting up the stage for Omaha Fashion Week.

We took everyone up to see the view of Omaha from our roof after the show.

After a few hundred more miles we arrived back to Omaha feeling very sleepy.

At 2am this morning, we decided to book a hotel and head to Colorado for a few days.

We arrived back in Omaha after 3,000 miles of driving across 11 state lines.

We then headed back to the lofts for one last swim on the rooftop and we had the entire place to ourselves which was fun.

Today was our last day in Omaha, so we hired a Uhaul truck so that we could donate all of our furniture to charity.
