I've been really sick for the past week but today I felt well enough to leave the house. This flu seems to have been making the rounds with my friends and sticks around for about three weeks, so I hope it goes away soon. To make myself feel better, we went to Plan 9 for sandwiches and a flu fighter smoothie.

We went treated ourselves to lunch at Plan 9 where there was a really cute dog.

We'd walked past Plan 9 lots and thought it looked cool but this was our first time stopping in. They call it a "space in time cafe" after the movie of the same name and the staff have cool uniforms. There's a poster on the fridge claiming "Amy Winehouse stole our uniform".

The cafe was decorated for Halloween and the staff had made spider fascinators.

Their pumpkins were cut with Jack Skellington mouths and they had other which were eating the baby pumpkins.

Dad treated us to a plate of gingerdead men.

Our hot chocolates came dusted with a spider and skull and Mum's cappuccino had "boo" written in the foam.

Yay, Louise Blackwood is back from Korea and today she was down in London for a job interview, so I met her for lunch at Plan 9.

Today was soooo hot, it felt like a different country. We all went for a late lunch at Plan 9 today. Look at the size of Tom Waddington's hot dog!

Louise Blackwood was showing off with the size of her camera lens, so I showed her the funny colour effects my little compact could do... I bet that showed her :P

This morning we met up with Katie and Jo for breakfast at Plan 9. They do a gluten free fry up, so it was perfect for Katie.

We’ve finally finished all of our Christmas crafting, so we rewarded ourselves with breakfast at Plan 9.

Plan 9 have started a Tex Mex Night on Thursdays, where they’re open until 10 and you can bring your own bottle. We went along this week to check it out.

For starters we shared a bowl of tasty nachos. Then we had quesadillas with a side of corn bread. Soooo good but we were praying for some fruit and veg by the end of the night.

Today was an adventure day with Martyn. We got up super early for breakfast with Emma (although she slept in) and headed to Plan 9, where Martyn claimed that he’d “had the best breakfast he’d ever had”.

Tom’s sandwich looked like a face, Emma thought it looked like the sugarpuff monster and I thought it looked a bit like Groucho from Sesame Street.

Martyn was in town today so he joined us for a Plan 9 brunch.

It was like a Scottish reunion + Irish Claire!

Last night, Robb (who works at Drowned in Sound) and his girlfriend stayed over at ours, so this morning we went for breakfast at Plan 9. The cafe was super busy so we ate our breakfast at a table outside, under heated fans and blankets. It was actually really cosy outside in the cold, cuddled up under blankets.

We had French toast and amazing Oreo cookie milkshakes.

I finally got around to taking Tom to Plan 9 for a hot chocolate and cake when he got home from work today. They sell A&W root beer, peanut butter M&Ms and all kinds of imported snacks from the US. I think this is going to be our new favourite cafe.

Tuesday is pancake day at Plan 9, so I took my Mum and Nana for breakfast this morning.

We went for lunch at Plan 9 again today. I usually go for the tuna melt but decided to go for the vegetarian sandwich today. It had mozzarella, avocado and tapenade on it and was delicious!

We went for a quick lunch at Plan 9 before Tom had to run off to a Ruby On Rails talk.

After a nice sleep in this morning, we headed to the newly refurbished Plan 9 for brunch. They were lovely and chatty like they always are.

We got up really early this morning to meet Emma for breakfast at Plan 9. I had tasty French Toast. Emma got a really cool envelope wallet for Christmas and I really want to make one.

After work we headed to Plan 9 for hot spiced apple juices. We also bought TWIZZLERS and A&W Root Beer for the cinema, but Tom forgot to pick up the drinks.

This afternoon we met up with Tom’s brother Jack, who’s been living in London for about 6 weeks. We were also able to give him a late Christmas present of Limmy’s Show on DVD. We went to plan 9 for coffee before walking through Hyde Park to the Serpentine Gallery. We started off with coffee at Plan 9.

We had breakfast at Plan 9 this morning. I love muesli sundaes so much, they feel really healthy to eat.

Today was my parents last day so we went for one last breakfast at Plan 9. I had the museli sundae as always!

This morning we took Wendy and her mascot penguin for breakfast at Plan 9. She’s going to take photos of him against the landmarks in each country she visits. I wish I had my own little mascot to follow me around.

We went for brunch at Plan 9 this morning and Bill Nighy (from Love Actually) was past followed a few minutes later by Martine McCucheon. It's a good cafe for star spotting.

It's getting a little colder so I tried the hot spiced apple juice at Plan 9 today was really tasty!

Today my Mum and I went on a coffee shop crawl, while the rest of the family visited museums. We started off with breakfast at Plan 9.

We stopped by Plan 9 to fuel up for more carnival today and I had pistachio cake which was really nice.

We went for a slap-up lunch at Plan 9. They make amazing smoothies with names like berry-go-round, cardio angel and acai dream. Tamara Beckwith was there drinking one too. It turns out that lots of famous people live in Maida Vale, including Jude Law, Natalie Imbruglia, Bjork, Kiera Knightly and Sienna Miller.

We took a break from packing this morning to treat ourselves to lunch at Plan 9.

This morning we took Bruce for breakfast at Plan 9, where I had a very tasty muesli sundae.

This morning we had brunch with Emma and Ashley at Plan 9 before heading to a very disappointing chocolate festival on the South Bank.

I took Tom to Plan 9 today, a cool little cafe I discovered a couple of weeks back with my parents. The sandwiches are so good and they serve A&W root beer!

We went for brunch with Martyn at Plan 9 today, he's down visiting for the weekend.

Plan 9 do pancake Tuesdays and we had been meaning to have some for ages, so after work today we shared some apple & cinnamon ones. They said that they had made them “extra special” for their favorite customers.

We had an early start this morning and headed for brunch at Plan 9, where I had the best muesli sundae so far.

To celebrate the 4th Of July we went to Plan 9 for lunch today and Tom had a 4th of July hot dog.

This morning we went for brunch at Plan 9 with Raven. Even the waitress commented on how awesome her “heart attack bagel” looked. It was a proper rockstar breakfast.

We're so happy now that it’s starting to feel like summer again. We went for lunch at Plan 9 today and sat out in the lovely sunshine.

The super exciting news this week is that Cut Out + Keep have signed with IndieClick advertising agency. We’ve wanted to work with them for a while, but they don’t take on many websites but now we're finally big enough. This means that IndieClick will deal with all the selling of our advertising space, leaving me with time to work on producing awesome content. We signed the papers over pancakes at Plan 9.

Tom and I went for an amazing breakfast at Plan 9 this morning and I had French Toast.

We also shared a delicious slice of pecan pie.

We then headed down to Somerset House for a better look around the exhibition.
