I’ve started making a patchwork quilt for our bed, which should be super cosy when winter comes. My Mum use to make quilts and won awards for them, so the knowledge must be in my brain somewhere. It’s quite a repetitive task but it gets addictive, I need to hunt out some good podcasts to listen to while I sew. So far, I’ve been watching True Blood, which I like.
This week we have been going on cinema dates, avoiding the rain, working really hard, buying clothes and giving more dating advice to the neighbours. We also came third, as Team Ravonettes, in the local pub quiz with Emma. There were only four teams, so third wasn’t that great but the winning team bought everyone drinks.
Cut Out + Keep’s trademark has been finalized, so we get to put an R at the end.
The latest issue of Alt. Fashion came through the letterbox, with my tutorial for making a lolita cuff, and it got me in the mood to be crafty again.
I’ve discovered the art of layering shrink plastic, so my first creation was a kitty cat hair clip. It works really well and now I have about a thousand ideas for things to make next.

layering shrink plastic looks fun. I want to try it. making a quilt would be so hard for me because i don’t have enough patience but it would feel like such an achievement. You can keep it in the family for ages and it will become an heirloom

You should totally give the shrinky dink layering a go, it works so well. I’m about a third the way through my quilt now, so it hasn’t been that time consuming, considering I’ve been out and about and all over the place xo
