We went through to Edinburgh today for a last bit of Christmas shopping. We arrived early, before much was open, so we went for a drink at Mimi's Bakehouse, which was covered in pretty things and pin-up girl wallpaper.

I had the vegetarian pate which was delicious and came with tasty bread, a spicy sauce and chutney.

We then went Christmas shopping and headed to Morningside, which will be our new bit of town. There were so many coffee shops and we can't wait to test them all out in the new year.

At the end of a very long day, we rewarded ourselves again with mulled wine at the Roseleaf.

In the evening, I made gingerbread dough and my Mum and I made crackers from glittery card, filled with DIY prizes and cracker jokes.

We also made gold and silver crowns with gems.
